I have acted as a governor for the school in Eaton Bray for 14 years, including periods as Chair and Vice-Chair of the governing body. I am proud to have been associated with such an outstanding establishment and its wonderful ethos to support the development of the pupils in their learning. In that period the school has flourished and an achievement for staff, governors, parents and pupils to be proud of is the transition from Lower School (4-9 years) to the fulfillment of a vision to provide for children in an integrated village setting from Pre-School through to age 11. Never resting on its laurels, there is always a spirit of continous improvement and seeking new challenges to enhance the educational opportunites and outcomes for all. The strength of the inclusive spirit at EBA is exceptional.
When not supporting the school and working as an IT consultant, a noteable activity I enjoy is cycling, including long rides from John O'Groats to Lands End and approximately 1350 miles around the coast of Ireland, raising money for charities in the process. The most recent of such endevours, in 2014, was to cycle from home to Rome via the Alps, that being just short of 1600 miles in 16 days, thus illustrating endurance in more than just the time as a Governor...!
