About Eaton Bray Academy
Welcome to the first glimpse of our School. We hope that you will choose to come and visit us and meet all our children and staff.
I was appointed Head of Eaton Bray Lower School in February 2005. However, I have been Deputy Head here since 1991. Our school moved progressively to an Academy in 2011 and more recently in 2013 we achieved Primary School status. I hope this shows a commitment to the School and my belief that it is a special place.
We are small enough to form excellent relationships with our children, and they with each other, but we are large enough to ensure the curriculum is fully covered. Our School has a quiet, calm, caring ethos, which is commented on by all our visitors.
Everyone at the School forms a hardworking and dedicated team. The staff are reliable and flexible, which is crucial in a small School. The Governors of the School are tremendously supportive and regularly give of their time, not just for meetings but also to offer advice, support and expertise. We also have a very active Home School Association. Their time is taken up planning exciting events for the children to enjoy. As an added bonus, money is often raised for additional School resources.
I hope our website will give you a flavour of what our School is like. Rather than try to explain in detail here, how we work and what we believe in, I would ask that you come and see us.
I look forward to welcoming you and your child/children to our School.
Mrs Sue Hounslow
Our school is a Primary School for children aged 4-11. We moved from an old Victorian building in 1988 to a purpose built modern school.
The old school kept a weekly log for over a hundred years from when it opened in 1863 onwards. We have been to continuing with this, but in a modern way, with our weekly blog, which you can read here.
